Basinger - Handsome 7''

BASINGER
Handsome
1993 Hair Records

Basinger were a great Yeovil band that seldom get a mention in the higher echeons of the Yeovil hierachy of pop. The greatest Yeovil band of all time was undoubtedly The Chesterfilds and Simon Barber proved there was life afterwards in Yeovil despite many local upsurpers trying there luck, not to mention Beat Hotel and the Urban Folk collective (Simon Tucker take a bow... ) Basingers soaring guitars and backing vocals from Stu Harris totally complimented Simon's driving bass and lead vocal style, none so finer as on the track "No Thrill" which really deserved a far wider play on radio. Basinger can hold there heads up high, they did the Yeovil proud.
They released three singles: Something 7'' (1990), Boomerang EP (1992 Wilde Club Records) and Handsome (1993 Hair Records)
(review taken from www.twee.net)

Third Eye - Third Eye

THIRD EYE

Third Eye

1991 Regular Records

Notes :

Third Eye was a band from Melbourne, Australia, consisting originally of Gus Till and Ollie Olsen, and later Olsen on his own. The early style was techno pop / indie dance, including a version of Russell Morris’s “The Real Thing” on their eponymous album, then trance on the ''Ancient Future'' album, and then later into more electronic ambience and experimental music.

Three singles were released from this great self-titled album: ''The Real Thing (1990)'', ''Pray (1991)'' and ''Impossible Object/Behold The Angel Of Frequency (12'' Promo) (1991)''.

If anyone can help, i'm looking for good mp3 copies of these singles.

Sugarblast - Sunny Outside (CD Compilation)

SUGARBLAST
Sunny Outside (CD Compilation)
1992 Emergo Insight Records

Obscure early 90's UK indie band from Workington, Cumbria. Original line up Jason Hall-Hetherington - Bass and Vocals, Julian Casey - Drums and Brian Fidlay (Dam Mage) guitar.
Early names were the O'Jives and Medicine Hat. Julian Casey dropped onto guitar when the three piece were joined on drums by Paul Knowles; becoming Sugarblast - a Dr Phibes track title.
Local following grew and the group were signed by Emergo Roadrunner and moved to London. First EP release was the classic (and still strong) ''Mind'' produced by Brian O'Shaunesy. Some MTV interest including special with intervews with Paul King on 120 minutes. Strong fan base built up through many live dates throughout the country. Second EP ''Sunny Outside'' followed along with Japanese compilation release.
