Well well well, you just uncovered a treasure chest for me ! :) In 1990, I tuned in to John Peel Show on BBC World Service for the very first time. I was young and living in South east Asia then.
The first song he played had this female singer singing "Sugar and Spice and All Things Nice", with this jagged guitar sounds and I fell in love with the song right away ! Sadly I didn't catch the song name neither the band.
Up until now !!!
Long story short, I was always hoping and kept on looking for the song for like 31 years !!! We are in 2021 now. ha Ha !
Because of this song stuck in my head, I discovered many other bands ! And the nearest to the song was a band called Faith Over Reason but FOR didn't have that song !
Thanks so much !! Also thanks for their other single War Madness and Shopping on this site as well.
Would love to hear their album called Consumed (After searching for them on Discogs).
Possible to upload Faith Over Reason records as well, if you have them please. :)
Thanks so much ! I'll never forget you ! ha ! ha ! regards.
Great story, with happy ending :) I'm glad that i helped you to find this song, it's real wonder how you remember this track after 31 years. It's really great tune and great single by The Playthings. I discovered this band before few years after watching video for their track "Juice" on early 90's music show on Spain TV Telemadrid.
They recorded album called "Consumed" but it was never officially released. Before few months i read on their facebook page that they have plans to release this album together with their back catalogue (two singles).
I have few records from Faith Over Reason, it's one of the bands that i have planned to be posted on the blog but it never happenned for some reasons haha
