The completed and mixed unreleased album by This Ragged Jack.
This album was meant to be the first of a 5 album deal with Island Records. The band split, the deal fell apart.
The album was recorded at Loco Studios in Wales in Nov 1991, produced by Donald Ross Skinner.
One of the most exciting things lately was discovering that early 90's indie dance / baggy band This Ragged Jack recorded debut album in 1991 for Island Records. Album was mastered and completed, ready for official release in 1992 but band split up and nothing happenned.
I'm receiving some great news that album will be released at the end of this year. I hope everything will be ok and we will have chance to listen this lost album, after 34 years.

This Ragged Jack were an electronic rock / 'grebo' act, signed with Island Records in the early 1990s. Managed by ex-WEA/Stiff executive Chris Heester, the trio of Martin Davies, Phil Mossman and Ben Mitchell only released two singles; 'The Party's Over' (1990) and 'Get Radical' (1992).
Somewhere in between these records, they dropped the "This" and simply called themselves Ragged Jack, plus gained a fourth member, Drew Cambel. Their debut single was a very early Jagz Kooner (The Aloof, The Sabres Of Paradise) production, whilst on their second, they worked with producer Donald Ross Skinner (Julian Cope).
Their remixes are excellent and were provided by Dean Thatcher, Creative Source, Steve Osborne (Perfecto) and The Grid.
